What are the Regional Championships?

The regional finals are where your students get to showcase the amazing work they have been doing as part of Tahi Rua Toru Tech. We’re keen for all those who have taken part in the challenge to attend, with up to 3 at each level competing. You can use whatever criteria you’d like to choose your teams.

Even if they haven’t completed their project, the opportunity to speak about their achievements and share their creative vision and journey with a friendly panel of regional industry and education experts will be a great learning experience. So we really urge all schools to come along and take part.

First, Bronze, Silver levels

Judging for these levels will take place during the day. We will provide you with a time for your team(s) once we know how many teams you are entering but most will be in the afternoon.

Judges will be looking primarily for good project ideas and strong reflections on the use of Digital Technologies and a working prototype is not necessary.

Primary level

For those entering at the Primary Challenge level, the challenge will be a time-based activity similar to those they undertook during the Challenge.

The Primary Championship and will take part during the late afternoon event (4-6pm) and students don’t need to attend the judging sessions during the day.
